Responsibilities :

  • Assisting with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs): Help patients with tasks like bathing, dressing, grooming, and feeding.
  • Monitoring Vital Signs: Record and report vital signs, including blood pressure, temperature, and pulse.
  • Medication Assistance: Administer prescribed medications and ensure compliance with medication schedules.
  • Patient Mobility: Assist patients with mobility, transfers, and positioning to prevent bedsores.
  • Observations: Monitor and report any changes in patients’ conditions or behavior.
  • Hygiene and Cleanliness: Maintain a clean and sanitary environment for patients.

Requirements & skills :

  • Qualifications:

    • High school diploma or equivalent.
    • Completion of a certified Health Care Assistant program.
    • Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) may be required.
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Compassion, patience, and a desire to help others.

       

    • Experience:

      • Prior experience in a healthcare or caregiving role is an advantage but not always required.

       

    • Working Conditions:

      • Health Care Assistants may work in hospitals, nursing homes, assisted living facilities, or provide home care services.
